Lancelin – It’s Adventure Time.

We’re backkk!

Firstly, this writer would like to apologise for the long overdue blog post. Life get’s in the way sometimes.

But here we are with our latest bloggable adventure! Today, we take a look at our trip to Lancelin.

Located just 85 minutes away from Perth, Lancelin is the perfect destination for travelers who are looking for a full-day activity with the family. It’s famous for sand dunes and sandboarding, which is what we’ve decided to do.

Upon leaving Perth, we first decided to stop at Endavour Tavern for lunch. The view was spectacular, and it had a great family vibe to it.

Atmosphere at Endavour Tavern

The menu is filled with classic Aussie pub food, so we decided to go with some Fish and Chips with a seafood platter. It was excellent!

Honestly, can anyone go wrong with Fish and Chips?

Having filled out tummies, we then made our way to the dunes which was less than 5 minutes away.

If it’s sandboarding you’re after, then you can rent a sandboard for your adventure. We recommend that you pre-book your sandboards before entering. Upon booking, you will be given instructions on how and where to pick up the sandboards. Alternatively, you can also skip pre-booking and head to the local shops to rent your sandboard.

Sandboarding is super inexpensive and rental of one board costs only $12.50 for 2 and a half hours. We think that 2 hours is more than enough to enjoy sandboarding thoroughly, because it is a pretty strenuous activity. But to each his own hey.

Upon entering the dune, you can see welcome signs with important informations.

It’s not an understatement when we say that the dune is MASSIVE. Entry to the dune is free, and besides sandboarding, you can also go off-roading and hop on the quad bikes for a ride.

We decided to pick a dune and try our hand in sandboarding, and it was such a fun experience! Although it was tiring to hike up the dunes, there’s just such an adrenaline when you slide towards the bottom.

At the end of the day, our socks and clothes were filled with sand (not to mention our car) but it was definitely worth the trip, and we’d recommend it to all our guests.
