Your Guide to Exmouth Town

With a population of 2,500 people, town of Exmouth is quiet, unassuming, and an absolute treasure.

We’ve recently had the pleasure of visiting Exmouth (so get ready for a few upcoming Exmouth blogs!), and it’s a lovely town. While there are only a handful of shops, it’s fully equipped with everything a visitor will need, even for a long stay.

The town is a 25-drive away from Learmonth Airport, which is the central airport for Exmouth, and it’s the go-to place to get necessities like groceries, food, and swim gear.

No worries about bringing your own scuba gear or snorkel set. Exmouth town is filled with shops that sell swimming gear, swimsuits, beach hats, and beach umbrellas. Basically, you have everything you’ll need for a good day at the beach!

There are two pubs in the town, and with the constant hot weather, it’s the perfect setting to cool down with a beer and some fish and chips. We’d certainly recommend doing a pub lunch during your stay.

There’s even a healthy Asian restaurant that sells sushi, in case you’re craving something else than pub grub πŸ™‚ The sushi and chicken kaarage was amazing!

Exmouth has no short of cafe’s (around 4-5 to be exact). We’ve tried the coffes and it’s pretty good! Some of them open as early as 6.30am, so if you’re coming in the summer, you could even go and grab a coffee early before you start your day. The people in Exmouth are early risers πŸ™‚

As for nightlife, this quiet town winds down at night, so all shops close around 5pm or so. However, we did go to this restaurant called Whalebone Brewing Co. for dinner, and their pizza was excellent. Plus they had a live band which added to a great ambiance.

The brewery opens during lunch time as well, so do check them out when you’re in town.

Overall, the Exmouth town is a hidden gem in Western Australia. Part of it’s beauty comes from the laid-back, stress-free lifestyle that’s adopted by the locals.

It’s a definite must-visit in our book.
