Situated in the inner corners of Jarrahdale is Millbrook Winery. A rustic vineyard and restaurant that boasts some of the best wine and food in Western Australia.
Millbrook Winery has both a cellar door and a restaurant, and it’s a 50-minute drive away from Perth. It may seem far, but the drive was well worth it! The estate was unbelievably gorgeous, and the food and wine were exceptional.
As we parked the car, we were greeted by rustic views of the estate all around with greeneries and a beautiful lake surrounding the estate. You can even see kangaroos roaming around the estate at certain points of the day.
The cellar door is located on the ground floor of the estate, and it’s a great place to taste some of Millbrook’s wine. You can even sit on an outdoor verandah by the lake to enjoy some wine with olives and a cheese platter.
As people who enjoy wine ourselves, we can attest that the produce from Millbrook estate is one of our favourites, as they even have wines made from Fiano and Viognier grapes, which is a rare find in WA.
Upstairs is the restaurant, and it certainly deserves its Gourmet Traveller’s 2022 Restaurant of the Year award for good reason! The restaurant’s food is made from produce procured by the estate itself, and it is delicious. We savoured their entree and main, which cost $65 without a wine pairing.
Millbrook restaurant changes its menu a couple of times each season, with different food choices for its guests. Our main choice was between chicken, fish, wagyu beef, and duck, which we were told is a staple choice in each menu rotation.
Safe to say, the food was excellent, and it went incredibly well with the wine.
In short, Millbrook Winery is a definite must-go place for good food, good wine, and romantic company. Although it may seem far away, we’d definitely recommend giving this restaurant a try. You won’t regret it!
