2 Hour Sunset Sail in Exmouth – A Romantic Escape

Just as the weather is starting to warm up in Spring. We decided it’s a good time as any to visit one of our favourite spots in WA – Exmouth.

This time, we explored a 2-hour sunset sail by Ningaloo Discovery. Just like the name implies, the tour is done onboard a 60ft luxury sailing catamaran. During the sail, you can relax and chat with wine and finger food – all while seeing marine wildlife and the wonderful glow of colours in the Exmouth Gulf.

Since whale season is on, we’re in luck to see Humpback Whales’ migration. We arrived at the Exmouth Marina at 4.30pm to start our tour, and were taken to our vessel for the day

Once we’re comfortably seated (we chose a seat facing the front of the catamaran), we were served some champaign to start. Soon after, the crew served finger food at the back of the boat.

Going on this sail was perhaps one of the better things we did in Exmouth (just my opinion :)). One couldn’t help but feel relaxed and calm as the wind breeze hits your face and you hear the ocean waves crashing onto the boat. The experience is ultimately serene, and it’s an excellent way to reconnect with your holiday companion and chat (be it a partner or a family member).

There we’re plenty of groups in the sail as well, and it’s suitable for all ages (although kids need to be supervised, as the boat can get pretty bumpy and slippery).

Not to mention the absolute gorgeous views we got of the sea during sunset.

Plus, we even got to see some whales splashing and migrating – which was certainly a bonus!

We arrived back at the marina at around 7pm with plenty of Instagram-worthy photos feeling perfectly relaxed.

Overall, going on the sunset sail was an extremely enjoyable experience, and we would definitely recommend it when visiting Exmouth.
