Summer at Madalena’s – A Day of Share Plates and Good Conversations

Summer is an excellent time for share plates and wine, and Madalena’s Bar in South Fremantle is right up there with the best.

Boasting a good selection of wine and small share plates, Madalena’s is a great place to go if you’d like long, relaxed lunches. The bar itself is located in a bustling area of South Fremantle, and the vibe is an excellent combination of coastal and upbeat.

The service was prompt and excellent – we made a booking beforehand and were immediately seated at our table. As customary with most restaurants in Perth, pre-booking your table is highly recommended before entering.

After ordering our wine, we took our time looking through the menu while taking in the summer Fremantle atmosphere. Ultimately, we decided to go with their sourdough bread and oysters for starters.

Feeling absolutely satisfied with our fresh oysters and soft bread with cultured butter, we decided to try the king prawns and toothfish.

Both dishes were amazingly fresh and perfect for summer, and the restaurant was filled with customers from 12.30pm onwards!

But we must be honest: While this might not be the best place to go if you have children, it is an excellent spot for couples and friend groups who want good food, fantastic wine, and great company.
