Duckstein Brewery – More Than Just the Beer

This week, we headed to Duckstein Brewery for some good beer, good food, and good conversation.

Entrance of Duckstein Brewery

It was a rainy, winter day. But the entrance of the brewery looked beautiful nonetheless. There were a few picturesque spots which are definitely insta-worthy. Everything about the scenery just shouted of romance and wanderlust.

How cute is this mini car? A picturesque spot for the ‘gram’ perhaps?

As we walked into Duckstein, the warmth of the place immediately hits us. It was perfectly heated for winter, and there’s a feel-good vibe to the place. It’s like walking into a good pal’s home and you’re immediately greeted with sounds of chattering and laughter.

Duckstein’s beer is excellent. Yours truly tried their ginger beer, and it is extremely well-drafted. The beer itself had a perfect balance of ginger, not too much but not too little either. It was a wonderful thing to drink in winter.

Definitely recommend this ginger beer

Staying true the brewery’s German expertise, we decided to try their sharing platter. We ordered the ‘Schweinshaxe’, which is a serving of crispy roast pork knuckle, and ‘The Ring’ which is 1kg of german sausage.

Everything about the sharing platter was a winner. The pork knuckle was crispy, and it was served in a creamy pepper sauce that went extremely well with the pork. Meanwhile, the sausage was juicy and tender. Both meals came with a serving of potatoes and sauerkraut.

However, the key addition to the dish that really made a difference was the German mustard. The pork and sausage itself is relatively, and wisely, subtle. Hence adding a little mustard with the dish definitely brought a nice punch.

Duckstein Brewery is not just about the beer. It is an ideal place for family and big groups that are looking for a comfy and vibrant setting for food. It is highly recommended for travelers who are visitng Swan Valley. We’d certainly go there again!
